A recently reported poll has reignited debate about public trust in the pharmaceutical industry and the role of health policy in the broader Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement. According to a survey conducted by pollster Tony Fabrizio in October 2025 and later obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, a large majority of respondents expressed concerns about the influence of pharmaceutical companies on public health policy, medical research, and healthcare decision-making.
The poll found that 90% of voters were concerned about overall pharmaceutical industry influence with 73% expressed concern regarding children’s vaccine mandates. The survey reportedly was conducted between approximately 1,500 voters who represented a wide political spectrum. The unpublished poll discussed opinions toward vaccine policies, medical research, and the relationship between government agencies and drug manufacturers. While that poll was never published, the White House has cited another poll published by Fabrizio a month later, which concluded that the issue is a “political loser” to “justify Secretary Kennedy’s pivot to food policy.”
American Majority CMO Dr. Oertle Weighs In
At America’s HealthShare, we find the lack of transparency in voter concerns about healthcare concerns. Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Oertle had the following to say about this topic:
“One of the most concerning aspects of this article is the growing perception that, rather than allowing independent polling, objective data analysis, and rigorous scientific inquiry to guide decision making, some stakeholders begin with a desired outcome and then shape methodologies to produce results that support predetermined interests.
True science requires transparency, intellectual honesty, and a willingness to follow the evidence wherever it leads, even when the findings challenge established assumptions or financial incentives. Public trust is strengthened when research, polling, and policy development are conducted free from undue influence and with a commitment to open evaluation of the data. Healthcare decisions should ultimately be driven by truth, patient outcomes, and scientific integrity, not by the interests of any particular industry or institution.”
