A Simple Guide to
Healthcare Sharing

What is Health Sharing?

Instead of paying premiums to an insurance company, individuals send a monthly contribution to their sharing community. Communities typically have a common set of beliefs outlined in their Sharing Guidelines. When you have a medical need that meets our Sharing Guidelines, the community helps share the cost and pay your bills.

Built-In Transparency

Every month, your contribution goes towards supporting real medical needs in your community, which you can view in your Member portal. We show you which needs your share helped (in a privacy-respecting way), so you always know where your dollars are going.

Receiving Medical Care with America's HealthShare in Three Easy Steps

While health sharing is not insurance, the process of receiving medical care with America’s HealthShare is similar to the process used by insurance companies.

Step 1:

You Contribute Your Monthly Share

Each month, your Monthly Share Amount is placed within a secure virtual bank account. The amount you share each month depends upon whether you are single, a couple, or a family, your age, the program you choose, and the sharing level you have chosen. Each Member’s Sharing Account allows for the transfer of funds between Members for health care needs approved for sharing.

Step 2:

You Receive Medical Care

When you need to see a doctor, you choose your provider and get the care you need. No network restrictions – you decide what’s best for you and your family. When you receive medical care, whether at a doctor’s office, emergency room, or for any Eligible Shareable Medical Need, present your America’s HealthShare Member ID card. Medical bills are then submitted directly to America’s HealthShare. If your provider does not participate in health share options, simply request a self-pay discount, pay your bill, and submit your itemized medical bill and receipt to America’s HealthShare for processing.

Step 3:

America's HealthShare Processes Your Medical Bill

After your medical care has been administered and your bills are received, if they are eligible under the Sharing Guidelines, America’s HealthShare uses the community’s contributions to help share your expenses.
